Stories and Solidarity Series
A Space for
Community and Connection
Are you craving more social connection? Do you wish you could dive deeper into topics that bring us closer as humans? Join Clear Minds Brave Hearts Counseling’s Stories and Solidarity Series where we’ll read meaningful books and share powerful stories that deepen our understanding of our human experience. Reading is a deeply personal and reflective experience. In this therapeutic book club, sharing and processing common themes within our stories will enhance that experience and help build a sense of community and connection.

I Thought It Was Just Me (But it Isn’t)
By Brené Brown
Brené Brown beautifully illustrates the social expectations and stereotypes that try to shrink women into unnecessary and unattainable boxes and often lead to experiences of shame. She shares the stories of the women she’s interviewed in her research and illustrates that the things we feel make us different from others are actually what help to bond us together in our shared humanity. Brown reminds us that vulnerability is strength and shame loses its power the more we talk about it.
