With self-pay, you always know exactly what you’re paying. You don’t have to worry about the Russian Roulette game that insurance companies often play when they just decide if/what they’re going to pay for healthcare services.
You and I get to decide the length of the therapy - sessions do not have to be at least or limited to 53-60 minutes and there are no limits to the amount of sessions covered, which is often the case with insurance companies.
You have more privacy because third-parties do not have access to your health information related to the services I provide.
Insurance requires a diagnosis in order for the therapist to get paid. I value and prioritize getting to know my clients as a whole person and fully understanding their presenting concerns prior to providing a diagnosis. Arriving upon an accurate diagnosis takes patience, compassion, understanding and above all else time; self-pay allows us that time to build a relationship and trust to understand your experience from a holistic perspective.
With self-pay, you have more control as a client.
